The Homy Casa L shaped desk really offers quite a lot from a rather average sized package. Providing a sleek metal frame design, topped with a stylish and very modern looking MDF work surface. The overall design is of great quality and left no thoughts of instability or worries about loading on our office equipment.
The desk itself is generously sized with ample space for multiple monitor setups, laptops and still be left with physical working space. How does an ergonomic desk differ from a normal desk?
More of us than ever are working from home because of COVID-19, that means we need to make our home offices safe and healthy places to work. The requirements for the best desks are inherently different depending on your work role, equipment necessities and working space. An ergonomic workbench must adapt as well as possible to the working environment and to the operator without adapting unhealthy working positions or unnatural postures, and all this without affecting productivity and efficiency negatively.
An office desk with ergonomic features such as easy height adjustment and large range of adjustable accessories and inbuilt cable management, differs from a normal, non-height adjustable desk that has a limited range of accessories in many ways.
A height adjustable sturdy desk with easy-to-use adjustment is a key factor when it comes to ergonomics and ensuring a neutral posture whilst working for longer periods of time. We’ve found that ergonomic office desks with either hand crank or electric height adjustment, as opposed to a desk with adjustable legs, suit ergonomic office spaces better.
A keyboard tray is important yet oft-overlooked when it comes to ergonomics. Keyboard trays give you more freedom to bring your keyboard closer to your lap height so you can let your upper arms rest comfortably at your sides and have about a 90-degree elbow angle while typing with straight wrists. Keeping the wrists straight while typing is extremely important and keyboard trays can be angled to allow this posture. If you wanted to ensure correct posture, you could also extend this to a ergonomic keyboard on your keyboard tray.
An ergonomic office chair is designed to fit your body and keep you comfortable throughout the day. Features such as seat depth adjustment and adjustable lumbar support allow you to support your lower back and vary your posture. One very important thing to remember is, not to remain seated for overly long periods of time. Always remember to take breaks from your seated position at regular intervals.
You don’t need to spend a bundle on a special ergonomic office chair. The right ergonomic chair will help, but you also need to think about how your feet hit the floor, whether your wrists bend when you type or move your mouse, and other factors. You can make many of these adjustments using other ergonomic office accessories with adjusting features, often obtainable with inexpensive purchases.
